The Upper South Carolina State Fair has something for everyone including great food, spectacular entertainment, quality exhibits and agricultural shows, a spectacular midway featuring over 50 rides by Amusements of America, and events appealing to the whole family. A petting zoo, pony rides, and the Upstate's largest Cruise-In are but a few of the events scheduled for this year's Fair. Local musicians and groups will entertain, and will play host to an old friend and a long running Upstate tradition, as the annual SHRINE RACE will move inside the Fair schedule for the first time in over 20 years. While entertainment, arts and crafts, 4H agricultural shows, and special events (such as the Demolition Derby) may be some of the reasons not to miss this year's Upper South Carolina State Fair, don't forget the food – and lots of it. The annual Upstate tradition boasts some of the widest variety of food found anywhere. From pizza to Polish sausage, from mouth-watering corn-on-the-cob to funnel cakes, from cotton candy to steak on a stick, all the smells of this delectable food can be found floating throughout the Upper South Carolina State Fairgrounds. How about an old-fashioned hamburger cooked on a grill from Burger Bob’s, with spiral fries? Or maybe a gyro is more to your liking? There are even Cajun specialties on this year's fun menu. Drink options are equally varied, including water, iced tea, fresh-squeezed lemonade, and many more. Please note that no alcohol, pets, bottles, coolers, bicycles, roller blades, skates, and/or skateboards are permitted on the fairgrounds.
