Red Shoe Society to Host Derby Day Celebration on May 7

Launched in 2010, the Red Shoe Society (RSS) is a young professional society created to support the children, families, staff, volunteers and donors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas.

The Commerce Club and the Red Shoe Society have teamed together to host a Derby Day Celebration. This event will take place at The Commerce Club (55 Beattie Place Greenville, SC 29601) from 5:00-7:30 p.m. on Saturday, May 7. Seersucker suits and floppy hats are encouraged!

Join us for the Commerce Clubs Young Executive membership drive and to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House. During the Kentucky Derby viewing, attendees will mix and mingle with heavy hors doeuvres as well as the signature derby drink, the Mint Julep. Information about what being a member of the Commerce Club and RSS means and the benefits it has to offer will be available.

Advanced admission to the event is $10.00 for RSS members and $20.00 for non-members. Tickets can be purchased the day of the event for $15.00 for RSS members and $25.00 for non-members. Ticket price includes one drink ticket and heavy hors doeuvres.

Being a member of these fun and dynamic organizations is a great way to meet and network with other community-minded young professionals.

The cost to become a RSS member is $89, the same amount it costs to host a family per night at the Ronald McDonald House. So membership dues alone already help one family in need!

For more information about RSS, visit www.RedShoeSociety.org. For tickets, call Marti Spencer at (864) 235-0506.

The Red Shoe Society (RSS) supports the children, families, staff, volunteers, and donors of the Ronald McDonald House Charities of the Carolinas. Our mission is to engage, empower, and inspire young professionals to participate in philanthropic and leadership endeavors and build awareness of the Ronald McDonald House Charities.

Ronald McDonald Houses have provided a home away from home for millions of families since the first house opened in Philadelphia in 1974. South Carolina is proud to have three Ronald McDonald Houses in the state. The Greenville house, which opened its doors in April, 1989, is proud to be the 120th Ronald McDonald House worldwide. The house provides comfort and care to families to seriously ill children receiving treatment at nearby hospitals. RMHCC is a 501 C (3) organization and is governed by a board of directors compromised of business leaders, civic leaders, hospital administrators and McDonalds representatives.
