The Peach Festival will soon be back and better than ever! Rich in history, the South Carolina Peach Festival began as a 1 day event located in downtown Gaffney, today the festival has grown into a 3 day party of non-stop fun for the whole family. Running until Saturday, July 17, this year's Peach Festival will feature parades, music, 5Ks and 10Ks, arts and crafts, tractor pulls, and a golf tournament. Since the very first event, The South Carolina Peach Festival has taken great pride in bringing some of the biggest names in the recording and entertainment industry as a highlight of its annual showcase of the peach industry and what it means to South Carolina and Cherokee County. Through the years, the South Carolina Peach Festival has hosted more than 200 of the biggest names in the recording industry and takes pride in being selected as one of the Top 20 Events by the Southeast Tourism Society. Continuing this year as a multi-day event, they hope to focus on the rich heritage of the South Carolina Peach Festival by including an assortment of downtown activities. This schedule of events is as follows: THURSDAY, JULY 15
-- Festival Kickoff, 8 a.m. -- 2 p.m., Chamber of Commerce Office FRIDAY, JULY 16
-- Barbecue Cookoff, All Day ("Big Mill" location) SATURDAY, JULY 17
-- Road Races -- 5K Walk, 5K Run & 10K Run, 7:30 a.m. (Historic District)
-- Parade, 10 a.m. (Downtown Gaffney)
