Donate Your Used Books to the Really Good, Really Cheap, Really Big Book Sale

Bookshelves getting full? The Greenville Literacy Association is offering a chance to clear those shelves before the school year begins. The GLA's Fifth Annual Really Good, Really Cheap, Really Big Book Sale is set for August 19 from 8:30AM-4PM at McAlister Square in Greenville, and the GLA needs donations of used books to make the sale a success.

Paperbacks and hardbacks alike are welcomed and appreciated. Books of all shapes, sizes, and subject can be donated at any of the following locations:

  • All Greenville County Bi-Lo locations
  • Bennett's Frame and Art Gallery
  • Garner's Natural Market and Cafe
  • Golden Strip Learning Center
  • Sargent Learning Center
  • John I. Smith Learning Center
  • Greenville Literacy Association
  • Greer Athletic Center
  • Greer Learning Center
  • Huntington Learning Center
  • The Open Book
  • Sports Club Greenville
  • Sports Club Simpsonville

Last year's sale raised more than $70,000 to support the work of the Greenville Literacy Association, SC's largest community-based adult literacy program and one of the most highly-developed in the nation. Greenville Literacy recruits and trains community volunteers to provide instruction for adults who request assistance. Greenville Literacy has expanded its services to five fully equipped and staffed learning centers across Greenville County and assists church and neighborhood literacy programs near these centers.
