The Food Lion SkatePark will host the Bele Chere Blowout Skateboard Contest on Saturday, July 30 at the park at the corner of Flint and Cherry Streets in downtown Asheville, across I-240 from the Asheville Civic Center. Open to all skateboarders, the contest features three divisions: beginner, intermediate and advanced. Timed runs will be judged for the number of tricks, style, use of course and the degree of difficulty.
Prizes go to the top three winners in each category. Registration begins at 3 p.m. on site on the event day and is $5 per person. Spectators are welcome at no cost. Competition begins at 4 p.m. with live music and giveaways throughout the day.

The Bele Chere Blowout Skateboard Contest is Part 3 of the 2005 Food Lion SkatePark Grand Prix Series and is brought to you by Food Lion, Mountain Dew, Doritos, Push Skateboards, Scapegoat Skateboards and Asheville Parks and Recreation. For more information,
