More than 100 years ago, the women of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.
embarked on a mission dedicated to "service to all mankind". Part of that
mission involves the Alpha Kappa Alpha Debutante Cotillion. Thousands
of women have participated in Alpha Kappa Alpha Cotillions through the
decades. The Greenville Chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha , Epsilon Tau Omega, will present nearly one hundred young ladies into society during the 2010 Debutante Cotillion. This years theme is A Panorama of Scenic Green with the emphasis on our environment and each participants role in protecting and preserving it through various recycling and conservation initiatives. The young ladies represent various Upstate South Carolina High Schools and work months accomplishing community service projects. They include: workshops on education, charm, etiquette, grooming, attire and finance. Winners of the 2010 AKA Cotillion receive college scholarships to help prepare for the next stage of their lives. These ladies represent the next High School Principals, Bank CEOs, Fortune 500 Executives, Mayors, State Representatives, and Beyond! The Greenville AKA Debutante Cotillion is the largest in the Upstate of South Carolina and among the largest in the country. Leaders of the Epsilon Tau Omega chapter of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority already have several television commitments in which they are sharing information about the 2010 Cotillion and congratulating all participants for their involvement. Join them this year as they crown Miss Debutante 2010 and celebrate A Panorama of Scenic Green with about 300 young people taking the stage introducing nearly 100 young ladies into society.
