City of Greenville Expected to Receive Heavy Rainfall

City residents should prepare for heavy rainfall, expected from Wednesday to Saturday, with totals reaching 6 to 8 inches.

The Greenville City Fire Department (GCFD) is monitoring weather conditions closely and will provide updates as necessary. As we prepare for the storms, please keep these safety precautions in mind:

• Call 911: If you or your neighbor are in an emergency, call immediately.
• Stay Informed: Follow local radio, TV, or social media for updates and safety information.
• Avoid Standing Water: Never drive through flooded streets — turn around and don’t drown!
• Stay Clear of Downed Power Lines: Treat all power lines as live. If roads are blocked, seek alternative routes.
• Create a Family Emergency Plan: Discuss and establish a plan with your household, including where to meet and how to communicate in case of an emergency. Don’t forget to include your pets in your preparations!
