City of Greenville Streets Superintendent Mark Jeror is the 2024 SC Outstanding Public Works Employee of the Year. Jeror received the award at the American Public Works Association Annual Convention.

Jeror began his career with the City in 2007 as a Streets Technician and worked his way through the ranks as a Concrete Tech and Streets Supervisor. Since his promotion to Streets Superintendent in December 2022, Jeror has revamped sweeper routes, significantly enhancing efficiency. Previously, the community was serviced only once every two months; now, each street receives attention every other week.

Jeror’s data-driven approach resulted grants through Palmetto Pride based on tonnage collected by our litter crews.

“His organizational prowess ensures tasks are efficiently executed and he readily lends a helping hand wherever needed. Mark exemplifies dedication, innovation, and a strong work ethic. His impact on the City of Greenville and the community at large is commendable,” says Public Works Director Dave Derrick.

Jeror serves as Board Director for Keep Greenville County Beautiful.
