Upstate’s Sky Tonight is included in tonight’s 8:00 pm show where you will learn about what’s happening in tonight’s sky including: planets, constellations, moon phases and special celestial events.
It is recommended that you pre-order your tickets online, but limited tickets may be available for purchase onsite at the Planetarium prior to showtime.
Roper Mountain Science Center accept all major credit cards. Tickets are $6 for adults, $5 for children, $5 for seniors, $5 for military, and free for Roper Mountain Science Center members as well as Greenville County Schools employees with pass. The experience is not recommended for children under three. Tickets are non-refundable.

6:00 pm: Magic Tree House: Space Mission
Travel with Jack and Annie, stars of the Magic Tree House® best-selling children’s book series, as they search for answers to a mysterious riddle they discover in a written note signed “–M.” Viewers peek into the treehouse and follow Jack and Annie on an exciting adventure as they meet a helpful astronomer and an astronaut. As they travel to an observatory and beyond into space, Jack and Annie nearly get … well, we don’t want to give the surprise away!
Recommended for age 4 and above.
7:30 pm: Tales of the Maya Skies
Tales of the Maya Skies immerses viewers in the wonders of Maya science, cosmology and myth, as we are taken back in time to the jungles of Mexico and to the cities and temples of the ancient Maya. The beautifully illustrated story reveals how the Maya scholars developed a sophisticated understanding of astronomy, architecture, and mathematics that enabled them to predict solstices, solar eclipses, weather patterns adn planetary movements, and through this knowledge make sense of the world around them.

Friday Starry Nights Tips
Please arrive early. You will need to have your ticket scanned prior to showtime. The lobby and planetarium be open 30 minutes before the show begins. Staff and guests are required to wear masks. You will be seated by the Planetarium Specialist and should stay in your assigned seat. There will be 6 feet indicators to direct you while in the lobby. Guests are strongly encouraged to wear masks.
