36th Annual Greenville Greek Festival is This Weekend!

Greenville becomes ‘Greekville’ as the magic of Greece comes to town this weekend!

Come experience authentic Greek food and pastries offered through both on-site dining and drive-thru pickup at St. George Greek Orthodox Cathedral on Friday and Saturday from 11 am to 8 pm and Sunday from 11 am to 5 pm.

Outside food booths will offer Greek favorites: gyros, souvlaki, tiropita, Greek fries, Greek sausage, saganaki, Greek burgers, calamari and much more. Mouth-watering native Greek food will be abundant!

The Greek Coffee Shoppe (Kafenion) will offer exotic Greek coffee and the indescribable “loukoumades,” a kind of Greek funnel cake dipped in honey. There will also be Greek wine and American coffee available.

The amphitheater will offer live Greek music and traditional folk dancing throughout the weekend as well, with dancers dressed in traditional costumes of the various regions and islands of Greece will performing.

Spend the afternoon strolling through the “plaka” of various vendors. You’ll find Greek imports such as sponges, worry beads, jewelry, T-shirts, Grecian coin skirts and much, much more. Shop to your heart’s content! Be sure to pick up some of those sponges and Greek soaps as they are great souvenir items.

Enjoy the children’s Carnival Playland Corner where the entire family can enjoy face painting and other activities. It’s all so much fun!
