Meals on Wheels of Greenville has received $5,000 as a recipient of Sisters of Charity Foundation of SC’s 2019 Fall Caritas Grant.
The Fall Caritas Grant is issued to South Carolina nonprofits who meet the needs of individuals experiencing poverty.
“Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina is inspired by the recipients of the 2019 Fall Caritas Grant. These nonprofits use grant funding to address immediate needs and enhance people’s lives across our great state,” said Tom Keith, president of Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina. “By being knowledgeable about their communities, our grantee partners are able to provide valuable services. They’re also examples of good to the rest of us.”
Meals on Wheels of Greenville supports the homebound and seniors throughout Greenville County by providing nutritious meals, personal interaction and independence. The funds from the 2019 Fall Caritas Grant will help provide emergency meals for clients of Meals on Wheels.
“Our Emergency Meals Program is essential in ensuring the homebound in our community are taken care of at all times,” said Catriona Carlisle, Executive Director at Meals on Wheels of Greenville. “We are appreciative of foundations like Sisters of Charity and their support of the programs our community relies on.”
Meals on Wheels of Greenville was one of 77 nonprofit organizations to receive Fall Caritas Grant funding from Sisters of Charity Foundation of South Carolina.
