Greenville Technical College, an accredited institution with longstanding Upstate roots, was recently named a South Carolina Governor’s Quality Award Gold Achiever.
The Governor’s Quality Award is sponsored by the South Carolina Quality Forum, an affiliate of the South Carolina Chamber of Commerce, and recognizes organizations who achieve excellent performance in developing, implementing and deploying a quality management system.
In addition to this year’s recognition, Greenville Technical College previously received a Bronze Achiever Governor’s Quality Award in 2015, and it remains to this day the only educational institution in South Carolina to receive this high honor. Other recipients from previous years include Charleston Water System, Self-Regional Healthcare, Bon Secours St. Francis Health System, and Wackenhut Services, Inc. — Savannah River site.
“Our quality journey began in 2012, and since that time, it has transformed our organization,” said Dr. Keith Miller, president of Greenville Technical College. “Jumping up two notches since the last award is an indication of the progress we have made, and by using the feedback we received during the most recent site visit, we will continue to make changes that impact the service we provide to students, business and industry, and the community.”
