Greenville County Schools students and staff have access to over four thousand ebooks and audio books through the Overdrive program.
“Overdrive is a great resource provided by our district, more students, staff and parents need to know about it so they can use it,” said Beth Mitchell, Monarch Elementary Media Specialist.
Students at Monarch Elementary have checked out nearly 2500 ebooks and audio books through Overdrive this school year.
“They are easy to get on to with one swipe of a finger. There are many more books than in a normal library. It is a good way to learn on the go if you don’t have a library near you,” said Ethan, a student at Monarch.
“I like ebooks because there are lots of books from little kids books to high grades and you can listen to them or read them. There are lots of books you can read in the library or at home,” said Anna, a student at Monarch.
“As a librarian it allows me to better promote our South Carolina children’s book program award program and our picture book award program. It gives the kids more access to those titles. It is a great way for students to find additional books that we might not carry here in the library,” said Mitchell.
