Fatz Cafes plan has always been simple: great food in generous portions served in a relaxed, comfortable setting by friendly people. For health-conscious regulars, dining at Fatz Cafe is about to get even simpler. Today, Fatz Cafe started serving an array of delectable dishes from its new LowFatz and LowCarbz menus. The decision to create the new menus was in part due to national trends toward healthier eating, as well as Fatz Cafes response to growing requests for low-carbohydrate and low-fat meals. While guests are now given more options, the new items do not replace original menu items. Nutritional data is printed directly on the new menus to allow guests to make informed decisions about their varying diets. According to Restaurants & Institutions magazines Obesity in America Study, 77 percent of respondents prefer nutritional data printed directly on menus compared to 17 percent who prefer in-house brochures. We strive our best to meet the needs of all our guests at Fatz Cafe, stated Steve Bruce, vice president of operations for Cafe Enterprises, parent company of Fatz Cafe. With our countrys current focus on healthy lifestyles and the rising popularity of low-fat and low-carb diets, we felt it was time to offer more of these options at our 22 locations. The LowFatz menu includes dishes such as Pacific Chicken Salad, Sundown Chicken and Chicken Laredo. The Sundown Chicken is a grilled chicken breast basted with fat-free sun-dried tomato dressing for a unique taste. Another option from the new menu is the Chicken Laredo, which is a marinated mesquite chicken breast grilled to perfection and topped with honey Dijon mustard, spicy salsa and cilantro. To top off the meals, Fatz Cafe is offering LowFatz side items, which are red beans and rice and steamed veggies. And for those who are watching the carbohydrates, the LowCarbz menu boasts new dishes such as Bleu Cheese Sirloin, Calabash Cobb Salad and a Bacon Cheeseburger Wrap. The Calabash Cobb Salad puts a twist on a Fatz Cafe favorite. It is a classic Cobb salad with sauted Calabash chicken, chopped eggs, bacon, blue cheese crumbles, tomatoes, and cheddar and Monterey jack cheeses. The Bacon Cheeseburger Wrap is Fatz Cafes old-fashioned cheeseburger all wrapped up in a 12-inch low-carb whole-wheat tortilla with cheddar cheese, sliced bacon, diced tomatoes, mustard and mayonnaise. LowCarbz side items are steamed broccoli and cole slaw. Furthermore, regulars will be given the choice of six different low-fat or low-carb salad dressings. Fatz Cafe is a casual, family-friendly restaurant suitable for special occasions, group outings and intimate dinners almost any dining experience. The restaurant is open for lunch and dinner seven days a week serving generously sized salads, sandwiches and entrees, including steak, seafood and Fatz Cafe's World Famous Calabash Chicken.
